Auckland Region Handball is an independant organisation created in 2007 to further develop the sport of Handball in the Auckland Region. It was created by the different actors of this sport there and still aims at regrouping everybody interested in this sport in this region.
Its goal is to offer a strong support to all the clubs, schools, universities and other groups that want to start or continue playing Handball in the Auckland Region and to further promote all the indoor and outdoor versions of this sport here as well as in New Zealand and Oceania.
Auckland Region Handball is indeed known to regularly organize regional, national and international competitions and to be sending regional teams to most of the open tournaments around Oceania.
For instance, Auckland Region Handball has recently hosted men and women teams from all around New Zealand of course, but also from New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Vanuatu and from the Cook Islands. And there has been Auckland teams and players going to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Noumea, Tahiti, Port Vila, Wellington, Christchurch...
