November 2006 - Australian Nationals (Victoria, Australia) After the success of the first participation of an Auckland team to the Australian Nationals last year, both the girls and the guys from Auckland went to the 2006 Australian Nationals in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. Unfortunately, both the girls and the guys were stroke by injuries and did not make it to the finals, both won by the New South Wales teams. But it was a good experience, and a good preparation for the next international events to be held in Oceania. |

October 2006 - Auckland Handball Spring Festival (Auckland) The venue of four teams from the Cook Islands Handball Association (CIHA) was another highlight of the 2006 season in Auckland. Featuring three men and three women games, two boys and two girls games, and a Mini-Handball tournament, this festival was a a great success and a great experience for all the players from Auckland and the Cook Islands. In the end, Auckland came on top in the oldest divisions but the Cook Islands kids did a great job against their Auckland counter-parts and it was amazing to see all these kids playing together. |

September 2006 - Men Oceania Champions Cup (Noumea) For the first edition of the Men Oceania Champions Cup, organized in Noumea by the Ligue de Hand Ball Nouvelle Caledonie (LHBNC), the Auckland team was the good surprise of the tournament. Upsetting the Caledonian and Tahitian teams during the group games, but unfortunately short in players, the Auckland team finished fourth after a last game lost after extra-time against the team from Wallis and Futuna. The final between the two best teams from New Caledonia saw JS Mont Dore taking the first ever Oceania Champions Cup. The final ranking was thus: 1. JS Mont Dore (New Caledonia), 2. AS Dumbea (New Caledonia), 3. HB Kafika (Wallis and Futuna), 4. Auckland (New Zealand), 5. AS Faa'a (Tahiti) and Golden Stars (Vanuatu) |

August 2006 - Central Region Tournament (Wellington) With the first edition of the Men Oceania Champions Cup a couple of days after this tournament, Auckland could not send a men team but the women team that went down did a great job to represent Auckland as they took over the national title. Beating Te Aroha, Wellington and finally Christchurch, the Auckland women team won all its game. And what a party it was afterwards! |

June 2006 - Sydney Tour (New South Wales, Australia) In parallel to the qualifications for the 2007 Men World Championship in Germany, an Auckland men team traveled to Sydney to participate in a series of games against Australian clubs and even play a training game against the Australian national team. The highlights of this tour was the game against the Sydney Frogs, played and won as the opening game of the last day of the qualifications and a win against the Sydney University. The loss against the Australian national team was unfortunate but the game was interesting for both sides and it's only at the very end that Australia took a definite lead. |

April 2006 - New Caledonia Tour (Noumea, New Caledonia) In order to prepare the qualifications for the 2007 Men World Championship in Germany, the Auckland teams went to New Caledonia to play against the national selections and best clubs there. And even though the Auckland guys lost their three games, this tour was a great success for them as they got a chance to play some very competitive handball. And since the Auckland girls won all their three games in the mean time, the outcome of this tour was definitely positive and all the players had a fantatstic time. |

March 2006 - Orangina Tournament (Auckland) Organized in March for the opening of the season, this tournament saw four "national teams" competing against each other: New Zealand, France, Germany and a Scandinavian Alliance. A very interesting tournament, and a great way to start the new season. |
|
February 2006 - Beach Handball (Auckland) After a nice summer with loads of parties, the Auckland players gathered together for a Beach Handball tournament on Takapuna Beach. A great time for all again, and definitely something worth doing again as it did attract some interest from the other people on the beach. |
